Sales and Inventory System for a Gas and Water Distributor

The distributor tracked sales, collections, inventory and cash closings in spreadsheets, with manual calculations at the end of each day. We built a custom management system, with role-based access and real-time reports, that eliminated the manual cash closing.
The challenge
Divenplan, a gas and water distributor in Ecuador, managed sales, collections, cash closings and inventory in spreadsheets. Every day ended with manual calculations to balance the cash, which took time and left room for errors.
What we did
- We gathered requirements directly with the client to model their real operation: deliveries, sales, two-level inventory and cash closings.
- We built a custom management system with Laravel, Inertia.js and Vue.
- We chose a monolithic architecture that fit their budget and scope, prioritizing fast delivery and low maintenance costs.
- We implemented role-based access control on every screen.
- We built reports with real-time calculations that replace the manual cash balancing.
- We covered the most complex business rules with automated tests.
Result
The cash closing is no longer calculated by hand, and management checks the state of the business in real time, even from a phone.
